Factors Affecting Pineapple Production in Central Agricultural Zone of Cross River State, Nigeria

The study analyzed the factors affecting pineapple production in Central Agricultural Zone of Cross River State, Nigeria during 2020 cropping season. Study described socio-economic characteristics farmers, determined major productive that affect production, examined gross margin per hectare and identified some constraints area. A multistage sampling technique was used for selection one hundred (100) farming households. main tool data collection a set structured questionnaire. Data collected were using descriptive statistics, analysis multiple regression analysis. result variables revealed 69% respondents females while 31% males. Majorities (44%) within age bracket 31-40 years, 53% married with an average household size eight persons about 86% had formal education. findings indicated area profitable. significantly affected include farm size, labour, cost fertilizer suckers. by lack storage facilities, access to credit amongst others. study, therefore, recommends good policies should be formulated government assist farmers gain loans grants so they can purchase required inputs. Government work private sector improve on infrastructural facilities such as road transports boost market linkages reduce post- harvest losses. this will help know their challenges advance ways solving them could raised, thereby adding value income raising standard living.
